This week I have mostly been

Another week gone, and here's October already! My is it going fast. I daren't mention the C word but I can feel myself hurtling towards it!

This week I have mostly been:

Eating stew. Yes, in spite of the 27 degree heat!

Working on my embroidery.

Doing my bit for charity by sticking to what I do best - eating cake! (Despite its radioactive appearance, this cupcake was divine.)

Finishing my scarf. Difficult to motivate oneself to make a scarf when it's too hot to even wear a jumper, but I got there! It's hunka munka.

Marveling at the beautiful colour the sky is at seven am. Make the most of it, it'll be pitch black soon!
I hope you all had a great weekend!

  1. I like the look of your embroidery! and the sunrise..I was going to post a pic I took of the sunrise yesterday morning, it was the most gorgeous shades of pink, red and orange. It made me smile despite being 7am and having been pestered to get out of bed by two little terrors wanting their breakfast! Well done on finishing the scarf, I'm sure the stew's and scarves will make sense by the end of the week when we will no doubt plunge back into proper October winter weather!! Take care bird, lisa x

  2. It feels like time has the fast forward button stuck! I've still not managed my "7 days" picture week. I remember 3 or 4 days photo's and then forget to snap any more!. Rubbish. I'll have to try harder.

Scarves and stews, well you'll have a head start when the weather turns shortly.

  3. What a cosy, warming post. I had planned a stew last week, but couldn't face it in this heat! Why do they always make cupcakes in dayglo colours? That one is VERY bright!

  4. Lisa, yeah it seemed wrong making a scarf and eating stew when I was sweating at nine pm. Crazy! When I walked to work this morning, I my brain couldn't reconcile kicking through leaves on the pavement when it was too warm at 8.20am for a coat! x

Cuckoo, I know what you mean. I keep planning to do things and then before I know it another month has gone by and I still didn't get round to it!

Catherine, I planned to make stew the week before last, ignoring my workmate's warning that the weather was going to get really hot. I felt very silly for not believing her! Also, the cupcake was SO bright that everyone else in my office rejected it. I took it because I can't resist cake, even though I was a bit scared of it at first, but it was totally worth it! :D

  5. I LOVE your bicycle embroidery, love it! There's something about the embroidered line, as an alternative to a pen or pencil, that I love, it's got huge charm. And the alien coloured fairy cake looks splendid, I hope it transported you! Love Vanessa xxx

  6. Thank you Vanessa! The cake did transport me! Now if there were aliens out there making cakes this good I'd be signing myself up to NASA for sure.
